Hino hybrid batteries

Hino's 195h is a Class 5 diesel-electric cab-over truck, sold in the US for the 2013 to 2020 model years. Its nickel-metal hydride pack of 40 modules is in a case on the frame rail, together with the inverter and the hybrid control unit.

Why this is worth checking before you accept a dealer quote

A fleet truck earns money every day it runs, so the questions that matter are what the pack test shows and how soon a replacement can be sourced. Send the VIN and we will quote the pack for your truck.

Check your factory coverage first

Before you buy a pack from us or anyone else, call a dealer with your VIN and ask whether hybrid component coverage or any extended coverage still applies. We would rather tell you that than sell you something you were entitled to have covered.

Frequently asked questions

How much does a Hino hybrid battery cost?
It depends on the model and whether you want refurbished or new. Where we publish a price it is shown against the vehicle above, and it is the battery alone; a vehicle without one is quoted per car — call us and we'll let you know.
How do I know which pack fits my car?
Send us the VIN. Model year on its own is not reliable across every hybrid — some vehicles changed chemistry mid-run and some changed pack packaging between trims. The VIN removes the guesswork, and it costs nothing to check.
Do you install it, or do I?
In the Phoenix metro we fit it at our shop for $250 on top of the pack price; mobile install at your home or workplace is a further $250 again. Outside the metro we supply the pack and a local shop fits it — a hybrid pack is a high-voltage assembly, so unless you have worked on one before, paying a shop for the fitting is the sensible route.

Send us your VIN and we will confirm the exact pack.

Model year alone is not always enough — some of these vehicles changed chemistry or pack packaging mid-run. Checking costs nothing and prevents a return.
