Hybrid battery pricing & replacement cost

If the diagnostic turns up something beyond the hybrid battery system that needs deeper investigation, we'll tell you what that involves and what it costs before doing any of it.

The battery prices are real, set prices rather than estimates — but they are the battery on its own. Fitting it at our shop is $250 on top, and a mobile install at your home or workplace is a further $250 again. They are the sheet prices for the Toyota Prius, which is most of what we do. Other models can differ because access labour varies a lot between them: a Prius pack sits behind the rear seat, while a Highlander or Sienna needs substantially more interior disassembly. If you drive something else, we confirm your exact number in writing before any work starts.

A larger, higher-voltage pack (Highlander, RX, Sienna), a model that needs substantial interior disassembly to reach the pack, or something we find once it's out — corroded bus bars, a failed cooling fan, rodent damage, or a previous partial repair that has to be undone. We tell you before we do any of it, not after.

Call us with the quote and we'll go through it. Most of the time the gap is not the same product: ask what kind of pack it buys, what testing was done, and what the written warranty covers — parts and labour, or parts only. Our prices are set and published, every pack is capacity-tested at module level, and the warranty is honoured here by the people who built it.

We can tell you what that code generally means and what we'd check. We won't quote a repair from it, because a code identifies a reporting circuit, not a failed part — and quoting from one is how people buy batteries they didn't need.
