No — the battery diagnostic is free. You get the findings either way, with no obligation to have the repair done here. If the diagnostic turns up something beyond the hybrid battery system that needs deeper investigation, we'll tell you what that involves and what it costs before doing any of it.

The battery prices are real, set, installed prices — that number is what you pay, and mobile install anywhere in the Phoenix metro is included at no charge. They're priced for the Prius and CT200h, which is most of what we do. Other models can differ because access labour varies a lot between them: a Prius pack sits behind the rear seat, while a Highlander or Sienna needs substantially more interior disassembly. If you drive something else, we confirm your exact number in writing after the free diagnostic, before any work starts.

A larger, higher-voltage pack (Highlander, RX, Sienna), a model that needs substantial interior disassembly to reach the pack, or something we find once it's out — corroded bus bars, a failed cooling fan, rodent damage, or a previous partial repair that has to be undone. We tell you before we do any of it, not after.

We'd rather explain the difference than match a number blindly. Ask the other shop what kind of pack the quote buys, what testing was done, and what the written warranty is. If they're offering the same thing for less, that's useful information for you — and if they're not, you'll know why the numbers differ.
