What the job costs and what it includes

A Prius 12V replacement runs $100–$400 fitted, depending on the battery your car takes. That is the price at your home or work — we bring the battery and the tools to you.

A load test on the battery you have, so you are not replacing a good one.
A charging-system check — an alternator-less hybrid still has a DC-DC converter that can be the real fault.
The replacement fitted, with the battery secured and vented the way the car expects.
A scan for stored codes afterwards, because low voltage leaves faults behind that should be cleared once the cause is gone.

Why a Prius 12V is not a normal car battery

On most Prius generations the 12V sits in the rear of the car rather than in the engine bay. A battery living inside the cabin has to be a sealed type routed to a vent — a standard flooded battery off a parts-store shelf is the wrong part for that location, whatever the terminals look like.

Arizona shortens the life of this battery

Sustained heat is hard on small batteries. Prius 12V batteries here often need replacing in under three years, well before the label suggests. Once the car is a few years old, have it tested annually rather than waiting to be stranded.
