Energi or Hybrid: check before you order

The Fusion Hybrid carries a 1.4 kWh pack; the Energi carries 7.6 kWh, or 9.0 kWh from 2019, in the same body. The two do not interchange. If your Fusion has a charging port in the front wing, it is an Energi. Both run a 2.0 L Atkinson-cycle engine, which is why they are easy to confuse on paper.

Is the Fusion Energi battery the same as the C-Max Energi's?

Through 2018 the two use the same 7.6 kWh specification of 84 Panasonic cells, mounted differently: in the Fusion's boot, under the C-Max's cargo floor. The 2019–2020 Fusion Energi pack is 9.0 kWh and is a different part.
