• P0BBEP0BBE means the battery controller has measured the cells in your pack drifting too far apart in voltage. On a Wrangler 4xe or a Grand Cherokee 4xe it usually arrives as a “Service Charging System” message with charging blocked, so the car still drives on petrol but will not take a charge. While this code is active, the dealer’s programming tool can refuse to load the battery recall software — so a car that is entitled to a free battery campaign gets turned away until the heater is sorted, at the owner’s expense. If you are being told you must pay for something before a free recall can be done, this is usually why.
